Kevin Magnaye has been awarded the prestigious Institutional Research and Academic Career Development Award (IRACDA) (K12) from the NIH. Congratulations Kevin!
The IRACDA program aims to train a diverse group of scientists to support the nation’s biomedical research efforts. It connects research-intensive institutions (RIIs) with partner institutions that are committed to supporting students from groups underrepresented in biomedical research.
This program combines a traditional postdoctoral research experience with opportunities to develop academic skills, such as teaching. Participants attend workshops and complete mentored teaching assignments at partner institutions.
The IRACDA program helps postdoctoral researchers prepare for careers in research and teaching. It also encourages collaboration between RIIs and partner institutions to inspire the next generation of scientists and promote partnerships in research and education.
